Earlier this month, the JAOPS team traveled to Bangalore, India for the Bengaluru Space Expo (BSX) 2026, one of the largest gatherings of the Indian space industry. Held at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre, the event brought together hundreds of exhibitors and thousands of visitors from around the world to explore the state of India's growing space ecosystem.

We came away impressed by the maturity and ambition of India's NewSpace companies, many of which already carry extensive flight heritage across rockets, landers, and rovers that have successfully completed their missions. It is clear that India's space industry has moved well past its early stages and is now a serious global contender.

Over the course of the event we met a wide range of new people and teams. We are grateful to Sai Vallapureddy for his kindness and for hosting us for dinner, and to Jean-Philippe Divo for generously sharing his time and advice. We learned about Serendipity Space and their re-entry mission, caught up with the Pixxel team and their ground segment, and had a fascinating conversation about GalaxEye's mission combining SAR and optical measurements.

We also enjoyed meeting the teams at Grahaa Space, Xovian Aerospace, Kepler Aerospace Private Limited, OrbitAid, Cosmoserve, Orbtrix, and Samtel, along with Rakesh Bahn. A special thanks to Graviton Space founder Sumod Kurup, who shared many memorable experiences with our own Alejandro Sela.

The trip also included a wonderful evening hosted by Qosmic, where we had the opportunity to meet astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla.

India is on its way to becoming one of the strongest space players in the world, and JAOPS looks forward to supporting its ecosystem as it continues to grow.
