JAOPS Closes ¥260 Million Seed Round to Build Operations as a Service for Space Missions

JAOPS has closed a ¥260 million (approximately US$1.7 million) seed round with UntroD Capital and Midtown Frontier Fund. The investment will support the expansion of our operational capabilities and the development of the tools and simulators required for our first Mission Control Center (MCC), advancing our mission to deliver Operations as a Service (OaaS) to the global space industry.

JAOPS already supplies mission operations services to customers in Japan, Spain, France, the United Kingdom, South Korea and the United States. This funding will allow us to scale that support as demand grows worldwide for outsourced, service-based mission operations.

The seed round builds on the public-sector support JAOPS has already secured, including a Space Strategic Fund award from the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and a grant from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

"This round belongs to our team. Every customer who trusts us today, across three continents, trusts us because of the work they have put in, mission after mission. With UntroD Capital and Midtown Frontier Fund at our side, we can now give that team the means to match its ambition. Space is hard, and no operator should have to face it by themselves. Never fly alone." Alejandro Sela, CEO and Co-Founder, JAOPS
